The Ballaghs have been synonymous in the performance of Trad, Celtic, and Folk, and have been described as a captivating catharsis of fiddle, feet and voice.
They combine their original sounds with the rhythms of Ottawa Valley-style step dancing, bound together by their palpable joy for playing and electric family dynamics.
Lively, up-tempo, and energetic, they are dynamic as they seamlessly span from spirited Celtic sounds, driving Old-Time fiddle pieces, honest originals, and everything in between.
The Ballaghs have been touring across Canada and the United States and Europe, and have
performed in several theatre productions since they started as a group 10 years ago.
This award winning group starred in two Drayton Entertainments productions of “Canadian
Loonie”, which was then followed by a sequel to the show entitled “Sorry I’m Canadian”.
They have represented Canada for four consecutive years on the international stage at the
Canadian National Exhibit in Toronto, performed on the main stage in Downtown Disney,
Florida, at the International Plowing Match plus have several award winning titles from Fiddle
and Step competitions across Canada. They have appeared at multiple festivals including: Summerfolk,ON: Irish Festival, PEI: Bon Ami Festival NB: Folksong Festival NB: Kincardine Scottish Festival, ON: Home County Music and Art Festival, ON: and have joined groups on stage at the Goderich Celtic Roots Festival, ON to name a few.
The Ballaghs have recently completed their 6th Maritime tour, and toured across Ireland. Shows in Ireland include headlining at Irelands best music venue, Monroes.
